My favorite spot in New Zealand

If I had to choose my favorite place in New Zealand for sure would be Waiheke Island.

Time there goes so slow and you enjoy so much the beautiful landscape that you think all the time how lucky you are to be on this small island.

The travel from Auckland city to Waiheke is just about 35 min by ferry.

As soon as you arrive to the main town you can spot sculptures all around, Waiheke is known for its artists and for their love for art.

From the little shops you can see Oneroa beach, pictures below:

If you are searching a place where to lunch I really recommend Wai Kitchen, I don´t think that appears in trip advisor, but man.. you have to try it ! , the presentation of the food is really good and it tastes as good as it looks!

Once that you start to walk around the island you find more beaches, each one more special with little details that makes the walk even more enjoyable.

Waiheke is also known for their wines, so it is easy to spot vineyards around the island

and if you want to enjoy this view you always can stop by in this beautiful restaurant: Casita Miro, inspired by Miró art.

On a hot day if you are not a wine drinker you can always ask for some homemade lemonade, it is really good!

New Zealand loves rugby and you can see rugby camps everywhere.

The cinema in Waiheke is really cool and special, don´t you think ?

Walking around the island is really enjoyable, each house and garden are really nice, full of colour and personality.

There are more nice spots in Waiheke, where you can stop and just enjoy the views however sometimes is better keep it for ourselves.

Hope that you like it Kim 🙂
